Clearwater became an Approved Contractor in May 2006 and was the first in the UK to receive this recognition for Close Protection Operations.

Clearwater received this honour from Mr. John Saunders OBE who was the then SIA Chief Executive and Mr. Robin Dahlberg the Acting Chairman.

Mr. Saunders and Mr. Dahlberg offered personal congratulations on this achievement reconfirming the need for regulation in the Specialist Security Industry.

Clearwater has been working closely with the SIA for a long time. All Clearwater managers are involved, using their personal and professional time in assisting the regulation of the industry and developing standards.

The purpose of the visit was for Kevin to see reservists and the Territorial Army in operational theatre. Kevin was escorted across Basra where he was able to meet many senior officers including the General Officer Commanding (GOC) – Major General John Cooper DSO MBE. In conversation with the GOC he informed Kevin of the vital and necessary role that reservists play in modern day military operations. 


Kevin also commented that ‘the commitment and professionalism of Cambrai Coy and the very important part they are playing in the restructuring of Iraq is exemplary, it was a privilege to spend time with them. I look forward to meeting them all again on their safe return’.
