Clearwater has joined the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) and are the Principal member of the new Close Protection Section.
The BSIA campaigned for years for industry regulation and since regulation came into effect they have been the ‘caretakers’ of the industry to ensure that standards are maintained.
The BSIA’s outgoing Chief Executive David Dickinson has played a key role in bringing Specialist security into debate and seeking further and much needed recognition for the vitally important role that Close Protection and Specialist Security Operations plays in modern day Security.
The incoming Chief Executive John Bates along with membership secretary Daren Wood gave an excellent presentation at Clearwater’s offices of in what he and the BSIA will be undertaking, positively promoting and lobbying for the Close Protection Field. He further added that he was “Delighted that Clearwater has joined the BSIA. Clearwater is a name synonymous with the Close Protection Industry and we are very pleased to be associated with them. Furthermore that they are the first members of the Close Protection Section”.
John Bates discussed many topics with the Clearwater MD Kevin Horak & Clearwater Specialist Advisor Sir John Foley ranging from security procurement for the Olympics to the new British Standard for Close Protection and the BSIA’s role with the Security Industry Authority (SIA) for the future.
