In March 2006 it became illegal to work in Close Protection in the United Kingdom unless you are a holder of a front line Close Protection licence. By training with Clearwater you are being trained to an approved standard by an approved company. We will deliver to you the required necessary skills as stipulated by the British Security Industry Authority (SIA) which is the regulatory body that after training you will apply to if you require a British license. For International students it will be entirely up to you if you wish to apply for a British license or not.
We have a very close relationship with the SIA and we were part of their original steering group when the standards were being set.
However, this standard goes far beyond the British Isles and for non UK residents this standard and the quality of training is becoming more recognised in many other countries. Clearwater teach to individuals from all around the World where British standards and ethics are very respected.
We teach this qualification to those working in hostile environments that are affiliated to Government departments, for further information please contact us.

How Long Does The Course Take To Complete?
The course is 14 days in duration from start to finish.
Training usually commences from 08.30 every morning and completes around 17.00 with exception to some evening exercises and assignments. Excellent accomodation is provided for you within the grounds of the estate and the course fee includes accommodation. The Ship Security Officers Course (SSO) is a mandatory requirement for those looking to work in the Maritime Security Industry.
Clearwater Special Projects Ltd are approved to run the (SSO) course which includes the Anti-Piracy Section of training. This new course provides our usual high standards of instruction and fits nicely into 3 DAYS.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of achievement. This certificate will be fully authorised by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) which will allow you to conduct the duties of a SSO as listed in the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, which is an International requirement for all shipping and the security of vessels.

Clearwater Level 4 Higher Professional Diploma In Covert Surveillance Operations
Surveillance has become a fast emergent part of the UK Private Security Sector. The skills necessary to provide efficient and effective Covert Surveillance are specialist skills in their own right.
Throughout our course you will learn about the role of a Covert Surveillance Operative and develop these skills to allow you to work in this growing field of work. You will be taught and will train with the specialist highly technical equipment that is essential for you to work within this role.
The course is run from our central training base in Shropshire in the middle part of the UK and the duration of the course is exactly 14 days.

You must complete and pass the whole course (14 days) to obtain your Qualification in Protective Security. This Qualification will allow you to apply for your Front Line Close Protection license.

Paying And Securing Your Place On The Close Protection Training Course
To undertake the full course to include all teaching fees, examination fees, certification, tax and accommodation at Netley is £2,495.00.

Terms & Conditions

We must receive the full cost of the training course 3 weeks prior to the course commencement. If you are calling within that time it will dependent on whether any places are available. If you do not complete the entire course and have to leave for any reason, you will be able to (with sufficient reason) come back onto another course for no extra charge. You will however have to pay an extra charge for accommodation (If you require it).
To guarantee your place you will need to complete the booking form (a downloadable one is available to print at the bottom of this page). When you send your booking form you must include the deposit of £500.00 or full payment (Unless you have paid over the phone). Deposits are not refundable.
If you have paid for a course and have to cancel you can transfer to another one. If you cancel or request to transfer to another course one week before course commencement you will loose 50% of your fee. If you cancel or request to transfer 72 hours before course commencement you will loose your full fee.
When we receive your payment we will send you the course joining instructions, a receipt of payment, confirmation of booking, a kit list of things that you should bring with you and a map of how to find us.
Payment Scheme
We also operate an interest free payment scheme where you can make monthly payments instead of one lump sum. We recognise that training is not affordable for everyone and we wish to help our students as much as we can. Payment scheme places are limited to 3 for each course.
The Payment Scheme - How Does It Work?
You need to pay £1000 to guarantee your place on the scheme, this can be paid in installments but training cannot commence until £1000 has been paid. Thereafter you need to make 10 monthly payments of £150 until the balance is clear - it is as simple as that. You will need to sign a credit agreement with us and a standing order must be set up from your bank account to ours. Payment scheme places are booked very quickly. Please contact our office for further details and availability.
