Why Pursue A Career In The Close Protection Industry?
There are many reasons that you may have thought about a career in this business.
If youare wishing to take the next step forward enabling youto work at the absolute upper end of the security business; the following points may have occurred to you.
In March 2006 it became illegal to work in Close Protection in the United Kingdom unless you are a holder of a front line Close Protection licence. By training with Clearwater you are being trained to an approved standard by an approved company. We will deliver to you the required necessary skills as stipulated by the British Security Industry Authority (SIA) which is the regulatory body that after training you will apply to if you require a British license. For International students it will be entirely up to you if you wish to apply for a British license or not.
We have a very close relationship with the SIA and we were part of their original steering group when the standards were being set.
However, this standard goes far beyond the British Isles and for non UK residents this standard and the quality of training is becoming more recognised in many other countries. Clearwater teach to individuals from all around the World where British standards and ethics are very respected.

How Long Does The Course Take To Complete?
The course is 14 days in duration from start to finish.
Training usually commences from 08.30 every morning and completes around 17.00 with exception to some evening exercises and assignments. Excellent accomodation is provided for you within the grounds of the estate and the course fee includes accommodation. Obtaining A Qualification With Clearwater And Apply For A License In Close Protection
In the UK, in March 2006 it became the law that you must have a license to work in Close Protection Operations. To obtain a license you must complete and pass a course that is compliant with the specifications as laid down by the UK's Regulatory body the SIA. We are fully approved to offer this standard and we are the largest Close Protection training provider in Europe.
Our Course
Our course is 14 days in duration and is a combination of classroom instruction and practical exercises. It is an intensive course and all sections of the course must be completed to allow you to apply for your license.

Our Training Centre
Our Training Centre is at Netley Hall in the county of Shropshire and it is the perfect training environment. As one of, if not 'the best' training centres in the UK, we are based on a 160 acre private estate ensuring privacy and comfort. We have a purpose built training/study room as well as an indoor and outdoor training areas.
Netley Hall is situated in the middle part of England, our training area, offices and accommodation is all in one place.
Netley is only a 3 hour drive from London, a 1 hour drive from Birmingham, a 1½ hour drive from Manchester and a 4 hour drive from Glasgow.
If you are interested in a course and would like to ask some questions as well as meeting members of the training team, you are most welcome. We require 48 hours notice and you will need to bring formal identification with you. Netley is a private gated estate and all visitors are strictly by appointment.


Accommodation
Unless you live locally to our central training base you will need to stay with us for the duration of the course (13 nights). Our accommodation is of an exceptional standard (to say the least) and you will be totally comfortable throughout your stay - this ensures the highest standard of learning and minimal fuss of having to travel to a training centre from your accommodation every day.
The Netley Estate has Wi-Fi and you are welcome to bring your own laptops for use outside of course hours. If you are driving car parking (free of charge) is available on the estate in very close proximity to your accommodation.

What Qualification Do You Gain?
If you pass the course you will obtain a Certificate In Protective Security from our awarding body. This accompanied with a First Aid At Work Qualification will allow you to apply to the Security Industry Authority for a Front Line Close Protection License.
This is the equivalent to an NVQ Level 3 award and it is also 15 accredited points at degree level.
The Close Protection Federation - The Largest CP Federation In The World
Over the last ten years the Close Protection Federation has grown substancially, with over 750 members it is an exceptional resource base. 
If you pass our Close Protection course you will be offered membership of the Federation. Membership is only open to Clearwater graduates and is free of charge.
Many of our students are still in touch and some work for us but many still seek our guidance from time to time. As a commitment to our students; for those who pass our training we will agree to assist you through the Federation. In doing this; when you pass the course you will receive a Close Protection Federation pin badge, certificate and awarding photograph with theClearwater Managing Director and Head Of Training (subject to their availability). You will also receive an accompanying letter of achievement that will contain your unique
login and ID number. This login number will be your
confidential identification
number and you can have access to the Clearwater team through this website. You will be able to seek advice oncontracts, tendering, employment status and working opportunities to name a few. All communications with the Clearwater team will be in the strictest of confidence.We will not be able to answer legal based questions or provide legal guidance; we do endeavour to respond to questions submitted to us by Federation members within 24 hours.
The Close Protection Federation is a non-profit making facility designed to help our students when they need it and lobby (if our members wish it) in the event of legislative change.

Cost Of Training & Booking Onto The Close Protection Training Course
If you are wishing to undertake the Clearwater Close Protection Training Course; the cost to include all teaching fees, examination fees, tax and accommodation at the Netley Hall Estate is £2,495.00. Please contact us if you require the equivalent cost in American Dollars, Euros or other currencies.
To secure your place on a course you will need to pay the deposit value (£500) or full payment in advance. This can be done by calling us and paying securely over the telephone by using one of the credit/debit cards that are viewable below.
