Since 2001 Clearwater has been at the forefront of Close Protection Training with an unparrelled reputation and we have now become the largest Close Protection Trainer in Europe. HENRY PATTISON MCMI AlfL
His experience is predominately Army based and has completed 24 years service as an Infantry Soldier. His operational Close Protection experience is predominantly Military based, which consisted of operational tours of duty in Northern Ireland where he was responsible for the planning and conduct of Close Protection duties, and conducting intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance tasks (ISR) in order to assist the Northern Ireland Police and other security specialist units to carry out their duties in a safe working environment.
Henry has been employed full time by Clearwater since 2003 and he has worked on many diverse projects and was responsible for the production and management of the new SIA license course. He is the driving force behind the development of other training courses such as advanced surveillance and Private Investigation. He is qualified to teach and he has an Advanced Award In Training And Presenting.
His Close Protection experience includes provision of C.P. services at management level to high net worth clients, high ranking Diplomatic personnel and high ranking Military Officials, both in hostile and non threatening regions.
His instructional background includes: Hostile Environment Awareness Training (H.E.A.T.) Body Protection Drills & Search Techniques Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Recognition & Protocol Embuss & Debuss drills training Terrorist Threat Assessment Observation Post roles and responsibilities Hostile Environment Command and Team Leader trainer Radio communication VHF, HF and Satellite Communications training and procedures Chris is a qualified instructor and holds a security management diploma and is qualified to teach with a City & Guilds 7303 PTLLS
WOII JEZZ JAMES
His Operational Close Protection experience is predominantly Military based, consisting of operational tours of duty in Northern Ireland, responsible for the planning and conduct of Close Protection duties in order to assist the Northern Ireland Police and other security specialist units to carry out their duties in a safe working environment. Jezz has also conducted the same duties in the following countries: Bosnia, Kosovo and Iraq. Jezz is a very experienced and adaptable Instructor in Military tactics and Operational skills and drills within the Close Protection sector. He has helped others to operate in places like Bosnia, Kosovo, and many other places of conflict in the world. He also has a Cert Ed. from the University of Greenwich. CHRISTOPHER PERKS
Chris has over 30 years of experience set formally with twenty four years Military service in the Royal Marines. He has seen service in the Far East, Northern Ireland as well as the Falklands conflict and has served in most of the world’s climatic zones.
Chris has a considerable number of educational qualifications including NEBS Management Diploma Level 5 and NVQ Level 4 Training & Development.

Since leaving the Army, Peter has been heavily involved with the Close Protection business operationally as well as in a training capacity. He also developed his unique Close Quarter Combat system. Over the last few years he has developed specific Close Quarter Combat programmes for Close Protection and Counter Terrorism Teams and he carries out numerous seminars and teaching programmes throughout the UK and Internationally. His extensive protective security experience has made him an acknowledged subject matter expert and he is widely regarded in the Close Protection industry both as an Operative and trainer.
CAPTAIN (RET'D) TERRENCE C CARROLL
Terry’s career started with 23 Special Air Service before moving to regular service with the Parachute Regiment. He is a veteran of 8 tours in Northern Ireland and also fought in the Falklands War. He has served throughout the World, including Belize, Oman, North America, Africa and the Far East. The majority of his early service was with 3 Para where he became Company Sergeant-Major of Patrol Company. He was also an instructor at the Regimental Depot, a Staff Instructor at the School of Infantry Battle School (Brecon), a Senior Staff Instructor (Sergeant-Major) in 10 Para and eventually Regimental Sergeant-Major of 15 Para. He was Commissioned and led the famous Red Devils Freefall Team for over 6 years. He completed over 650 freefall descents and became a regular display jumper in addition to his command function. His dedication took him all over the World as commander of the team acting as an ambassador of the Parachute Regiment and British Army. Since he retired from the British Army Terry has been involved with Clearwater right from the very outset and he has been a principle instructor for over 6 years; he now attends as a guest lecturer.
For the last five years he has worked in the civilian sector, as a close protection operative and security trainer. His Military service saw him involved in high risk search operations in Northern Ireland, the Falklands, New Zealand and Bosnia, with extensive training tours supporting UK and NATO troops. Since leaving the army he has been involved with close protection and security training, in UK, Iraq and Kuwait.
He is a qualified teacher with a 7302 teaching qualification. He is also qualified as a conflict management instructor with 1884 & 1886 qualifications. He is also a qualified first aid instructor and assessor. |

Having served for 22 years as an Infantry Soldier, Jezz has had a very busy full service career in the military.

Terry’s background is Army based with 28 years exemplary service.
Simon has 27 years experience in the world of security and training, of which 22 years were served in the British Army in peace and at times of conflict.
